How many Meal Tickets is my dish worth?
You decide how many Meal Tickets you assign to your dish. We recommend using the price of ingredients as a guide. If the ingredients for your dish cost $12, then it would be worth 12 Meal Tickets. The average 4-serving entree is about 10 Meal Tickets.
I haven't given away a dish yet. Can I still claim one?
Yes! You receive 10 Meal Tickets to get started when you sign up for a Crowd Kitchen account.
How should I package my dish?
We suggest disposable containers to avoid the hassle of returning dishes. Don't forget to include baking instructions if necessary. You can order a wide variety of inexpensive plastic storage and baking containers in our store.
Where should I meet to deliver/pick up my dish?
When meeting Crowd Kitchen users who aren't your friends, we recommend meeting somewhere public, populated, easy to find and well lit. Grocery stores, coffee shops, community buildings or other local landmarks are all potential meeting spots. When trading with friends, you can also include the options of either party's home.
Where can I find recipes that are easy to share?
Check out some of our favorite cookbooks for food sharers.
How do I know the food is safe?
The Crowd Kitchen Marketplace is designed to give you complete control over your sharing network. You can choose to claim food from your friends only, friends of friends, or anyone in your geographic vicinity. The ratings system can tell you about other users' experience with an individual. However, it is important to understand that any food claimed on the site is prepared in private kitchens and, as such, is not governed by food safety regulations. We ask all users to adhere to our Kitchen Rules and Terms and Conditions. If you encounter a Crowd Kitchen user who does not meet the standards set forth, please contact us.
I follow a special diet. Can I look for dishes that meet my restrictions?
Yes! Look for special icons chefs use to indicate their dishes are gluten-free, dairy-free, peanut-free, or vegan/vegetarian. Please be aware that this information is user-generated and provided only as guides; Crowd Kitchen makes no guarantees about the accuracy of any claims made by food preparers. If you or a member of your family has a severe allergy, we urge you to use extreme caution.
